A radiant yellow pool, emerald pads, and a single luminous lily — the most vibrant of the series.
Water Music - 9 forms part of a rare offset lithographic series commissioned for the opening of the Allegro Hotel at the Kursaal in Bern. Each plate was hand etched by the artist and each impression was printed by Franz and Elaine Witter under the artist’s supervision and subsequently hand-painted by Teruko Yokoi, transforming the edition into a set of unique variants.
The series builds upon the artist’s earlier Water Lily studies of the late 1980s, extending her exploration of nature’s rhythm and reflection into a lyrical visual metaphor for sound and motion.

The most vibrant of the series, with bold yellow ground and emerald pads encircling a luminous white bloom. Playful drips and spontaneous marks animate the surface, turning the pond into a radiant field of light and color.
